Peter Paul Roemer died June 13, 2026. He was born January 9, 1951 in Clintonville to Jeanette (Sabrowsky) Roemer and Benjamin Charles Roemer. He attended Manitowish Waters Grade School when it was just a two-room school house. He went to Lakeland Union High School where he was on Science and Math teams. After high school he was accepted into Carnegie-Melon University in Pittsburgh where he double majored in physics and economics.
After graduating from college, he returned to Manitowish Waters to work as an engineer at Trueflight Manufacturing Company later taking over as president and managed companies in both Wisconsin and Nevada.
Peter was a voracious reader and throughout his life he kept up with developments in physics, astronomy, aviation, politics and philosophy. His intellect, curiosity and adventurousness started with all things science related. He built multiple telescopes, clocks and weather instruments. He built airplanes, sail planes, sail boats, and hand-planed wood canoes and kayaks. His first love was always flying and he had his own Youtube channel showing his cross country flights with a GoPro attached to his wings. He won several races flying his homebuilt plane. Outfitted with a pressure suit and oxygen tanks, he won awards for breaking altitude records in sailplanes. He was a certified diver and explored many of the lakes in the Manitowish Waters chain finding remnants of the logging industry, old boats, anchors and fishing gear — but mostly, golf balls!
Peter was kind and generous to everyone he knew with a sharp wit and friendly countenance. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette Roemer and Benjamin Roemer. He is survived by his sisters, Lori Roemer, Janet (Roemer) Eidson (Tom Eidson), nieces Dr. Christine Eidson, Elle Moss (Zach Moss), Callan Roemer (Trevor Wright), nephews Cody Eidson, Jake Eidson, Wiley Roemer and their respective families.
Per Peter’s directives, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Peter wanted to leave his friends and family with this last message: “In the words of Homer Simpson, I’ve had a good run!”
