Joseph Raymond Tennessen

Joseph Raymond Tennessen, 81, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at Milestone Senior Living in Rhinelander. He was born in Kenosha, to Bernard and Edna (Grasser) Tennessen on December 16, 1944.

Joseph spent his younger years in Kenosha and then joined the United States Air Force where he was deployed to East Asia during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cribbage and many other card games, and spending time with his family.

Joe was survived by his brother Kenneth, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lois Herr, Kathleen Kreger, and Mary Kreger.

A graveside service with military honors will be held for Joe at the Northwoods National Cemetery on Monday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. You may leave your private condolences for the Tennessen family at www.carlsonfh.com. The Carlson Funeral Home, 715-369-1414, is handling the arrangements for the family.
