Carol Jean (Boelkens) Garms

Carol Jean (Boelkens) Garms, 77, of Woodruff, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026 surrounded by loving family. She was born on March 30, 1949 in Milwaukee to Clara and Curt Boelkens.

After graduating from Milwaukee Washington High School in 1966, Carol went on to Spencerian Business College. In 1972, Carol married John, together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage and raised four beautiful children.

Carol began her professional career as a secretary and after raising four children, she went on to serve as a telecommuting global administrative assistant. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout all stages of her career before retiring in 2018.

Carol was a talented woodworker, seamstress, and baker. She enjoyed swimming, walking, and playing cards with family. Above all, Carol deeply loved the outdoors and wildlife, finding joy in every season.

Carol will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, laughter, wisdom, and the love she gave so completely to those around her.

Carol is survived by her husband John; her children Matthew (Becky), Katie (Noah), Steven (Jenni), and Elisabeth; her grandchildren Aaron, Asher, Anders, Elijah, Gabriel; and her sister Barbara.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents Clara and Curt Boelkens; and her sister Diane.

Carol Jean will be interned at the Wisconsin Memorial Park with a private Celebration of Life to be held this summer.
