Brian Thurow passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by Cassy Thurow; his son, Aaron Thurow, and daughter-in-law, Shelle; his daughter, Emily Gorman, and son-in-law, Hodd Gorman; and his beloved granddaughter, Rorie Gorman. He is also survived by his brother, Brad (Laurie); his sister, Betsy (Jim); his parents, Ron and Linda; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doris and Pete Thurow, and Tom and Lois Bainbridge.
Brian spent his early years across the Midwest — in Marshall, Mich., Centerville, Ohio, and Greenwood, Ind. — before moving to Winona and graduating from Winona Senior High School. He ultimately made his way back to Winona, Minn., where he built a life and raised his family.
A dedicated financial advisor with Edward Jones, he found deep purpose in helping others navigate life’s financial decisions. His work was part of a meaningful family tradition, one he shared with his father and his son, grounded in integrity, relationships, and a sincere desire to serve others.
Brian had a deep and enduring love for the outdoors — especially the Northwoods — and found joy in biking, skiing, and traveling with his children. He could often be found relaxing at the cabin with a cocktail in hand, listening to classic rock, Jimmy Buffett, or some obscure band, always ready to quiz those around him on the song or artist.
Brian’s constant smile and lively presence could brighten any room, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home on Saturday, April 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. A brief family prayer and reflections from his children will take place at 2 p.m.
Brian deeply loved his pets, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his honor to Tails of Hope, W1829 Pony Trail, Alma, WI 54610.
Services entrusted to Fawcett Junker Funeral Home & Crematory, Winona, Minn. www.fawcett-junkerfuneralhome.com.
