Patricia Ann Mallek (née Winker)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Patricia Ann Mallek (née Winker), 88, formerly of Hazelhurst and Englewood, Fla. Pat passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, after a six month battle with cancer.

Pat was born on April 6, 1937, in Harrison to Arthur and Juttietta Winker. She graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1955. That fall, she married Loren “Fuzzy” Mallek. Together they made their home in the Minocqua area.

Pat lived a full and happy life. She worked at Mama’s Restaurant for many years and enjoyed the challenge of making each customer happy. She loved to travel and was fortunate to take many trips with friends and family.

Pat was a talented knitter. She made Christmas stockings, sweaters, slippers, and so much more. Each stocking was custom-made for family and friends. Word spread about her talent, and she always had a new project to create.

Pat loved music and was always ready to attend any musical event she could. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and board games. She was always busy and embraced each day.

Pat and Fuzzy were married for 67 years before his passing in 2022. After Fuzzy’s death, Pat moved to Florida, as she had always loved warmer weather. She and Fuzzy had spent many winters there over the years.

Together, Pat and Fuzzy raised five children: Mary Jo Sajdak (Rudy), Judith Greisinger (Paul), Joan Bougie (Rick), Jay Mallek (Renee), and Nancy Reuter (Jason). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Fuzzy, and her 11-year-old granddaughter, Tiffany Bougie.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Windsor of Venice for their compassionate care of Pat during her final days.
