Burton M. “Burt” Jennings, 90, of Minocqua (formerly of Tonica, Ill.) passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025.
Burt was born in Peru, Ill., on March 28, 1935 to Winfield H. and Alice (Kencke) Jennings. He graduated from Tonica High School, Class of 1953. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Amarillo, Texas.
He married JoAnn Gray on April 16, 1955 in Tonica, Ill. She preceded him in death on November 11, 1999. He married Marilyn Wilsing on April 3, 2000.
Burt is survived by two children, Brian Jennings of Lake Tomahawk and Allison (Michael) Litman of Minocqua; two grandchildren, Tyler (Kristina) Litman and Danie (Eric) Smith; two great-granddaughters, Joanna and Myla Smith; his second wife, Marilyn, and her son, Michael (Melissa) Temple. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn, his parents, and his sister, Katheryne (Jennings) Goskusky.
A memorial celebration will be held in Tonica, Ill. at a later date. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Tonica, Ill.
