Bruce G. Anderson unexpectedly left this world on October 21. Bruce was born in Cook County, Ill. on March 10, 1952 to Richard and Dorothy Anderson. The family moved to Peshtigo, and he graduated from Peshtigo High School with the class of 1970. Bruce attended Michigan State University on a football scholarship and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1973, he married his high school sweetheart Jane (Schonfeld). He began his professional career at Allis Chalmers in West Allis, and eventually relocated to Wisconsin Rapids, where he worked in management and engineering at Consolidated Papers. He ended his professional career as maintenance manager North America for Stora Enso Paper. While in Wisconsin Rapids Bruce designed and built his own house in the town of Kellner.

In 2012, Bruce and Jane moved full-time to their home in Winchester on South Turtle Lake. They were season pass holders for over 25 years at Indianhead ski resort (Snow River). They thoroughly enjoyed supper-clubbing; with a standing reservation at the Ding-a-Ling Supper Club in Mercer on Wednesday nights. He was a sports fan, cheering for the Wisconsin Badgers and a shareholder of the Green Bay Packers. Bruce was proud of his Swedish heritage and loved watching old movies, westerns, comedies, musicals and especially World War II historical films. In addition to making a mean margarita, Bruce captained thousands of pontoon cruises for family and friends and was well known for his big heart and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife Jane of 52 years; his brother Bryan (Ruth) Anderson, his sister Cecile (Darryl) Aday; nieces and nephews Nicole Brissette, Lisa (Jeff) Johnson, Steven Brissette II, Eric Anderson, and Corey Aday; as well as cousins, great nephews and nieces, and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon (Jeff Forbes), and sister-in-law Judy Brissette (Steve).

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, from noon to 3 p.m. at Nimsgern Funeral Home, 1025 Margaret Street, Woodruff, WI. In memory of Bruce, please honor him by supporting local fundraisers and businesses. Buy that raffle ticket, order dinner from a local establishment, and tip your wait staff and bartenders a little extra, or make a donation to your favorite charity in his name.
