Lee Roche

Lee Roche, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 8, 2025, in Lac du Flambeau.

Born on March 29, 1940, in Chicago, to Leon Roche and Lillian (Greenlimb) Roche, Lee lived a joyful and meaningful life marked by service, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of daily living.

From 1958 to 1962, Lee proudly served in the U.S. Army as part of the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade. Stationed in Germany during his service years, he contributed to his country with dedication and honor during a pivotal time in global history.

After his military service, Lee built a life rooted in love and purpose. He shared 62 cherished years with his wife, Donna (Eggert) Roche and together, they raised two sons, TJ and Dan. Lee also had great love for and pride in his broader family including his two daughters-in-law, Kate and Krissie Roche, and five grandchildren, Lily (Colton) Neabling, Sam, Ben, Jeremy and Justin Roche.

Lee had a passion for reading history novels and building scale trains and found peace in boating and traveling — especially enjoying many trips to Texas with Donna. Closer to home in Wisconsin, he was known for his daily hikes and his commitment to keeping Moss Lake Road tidy while serving dog treats to four-legged neighborhood friends. These routines reflected not only his love of nature but also his quiet sense of responsibility and care for the world around him.

Above all else, Lee loved his family deeply. His presence will be profoundly missed by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and strength to all who were touched by his life.
