Mary Holt

Mary Holt, 72, passed away on November 2, 2025 in Minocqua.

Born in Marshfield to immigrant parents shortly after they arrived in the U.S., English was the third of five languages she learned. She also learned to read music at a young age and was a gifted musician who played the piano and organ. Her dedication to selfless and compassionate service guided her to a 46-year career as a nurse, touching the lives of thousands of patients.

Mary lived humbly, gave generously, and loved passionately. She was an incredible and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and nurse. She also adored caring for animals (her beloved dogs and grand-dogs), baking, cooking for her family and friends, building relationships with her patients, and enjoying the beauty and serenity of Blue Lake and Minocqua.

Mary inspires and is survived by her loving husband, Wendell Holt, children John (Leslie) Holt and Alison (Anthony) Komarek, sister Elisa Goch, brother Fred Goch, and four grandchildren: Logan and Madison Komarek, and Jackson and Charles Holt. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Elsa Goch, and her sister Mary Goch.

Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff on Friday, Nov. 21 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a remembrance Mass to follow at 11 a.m. Gifts in memory of Mary may be made to Oneida County Humane Society.
