Sally Jo Frick, 82, of Marion, Ill., passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at her home with her loving family be her side.

She was born on November 23, 1942 in Elgin, Ill., to Douglas and Mary (Thomas) Johnston.

She attended Elgin High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1960.

Sally was united in marriage to Bill Frick on November 26, 1960 in Elgin and together they shared over sixty-four years of marriage.

Sally was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Marion, Ill., where she was actively involved in many of the women’s groups. She was also a member of Williamson County Home Extension. Sally was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved her family beyond words. She was a homemaker and loved to take care of her home and her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking but particularly loved to do so when she was entertaining guests in her home. She loved to sing and play the piano and used her gift of music to honor God in her church.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Frick of Marion, Ill.; her children, Jode (R.J.) Formiller of Hudson, William Dean (Sue) Frick, Jr. of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Douglas Arnold (Lisa M.) Frick of Wausau; her grandchildren, William Scott Formiller, Paul Douglas Formiller, Katherine Marie Frick, Madeline Claire Taylor, Austin X. Frick, Erika Frick, Samantha Frick and Cooper Dean Frick; two great-granddaughters, Sadie Kay and Sophie Jo; brother, Douglas Scott (Deborah) Johnston of Zanesville, Ohio; and several extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, Ill.

In accordance with her wishes, a private, family gathering celebrating Sally’s life is being planned for a later date.

For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to “First Baptist Church Missions.” Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL 62959.
