Mary J. Bailey, 84, of Arbor Vitae passed away at her home on March 15, 2025.
She was born on April 30, 1940, in Elgin, Ill. to Kenneth and Selma Egerton.
Mary and her husband Donald owned and operated Bailey’s Resort for 20 years. She also taught piano to St. Germain and Eagle River residents, ranging in age from eight to 80. She also was the church organist at the Evangelical Free Church in St. Germain and a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in Woodruff. In 2001 she traveled to Ukraine with seven others on a mission trip.
Mary was a member of the St. Germain PrimeTimers, member volunteer at Boxes of Love and the St. Germain Fire Department Auxiliary, where she started the fish fry and the St. Germain Flea Market.
She is survived by her children; Debra (Bean) Mullins, Karen (Bill) Stackpole, James (Vonice) Bailey and David Bailey; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; sister, Donna Schultz; and brother, Douglas.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
