Dorothy Adelia Walker (nee Zeinert) was born in Shepley, on June 29, 1924 and died June 7, 2025 in Port Richey Fla. at the age of 100 while residing at the residence of her daughter.
Dorothy was the third of 13 children born to Myrtle and Edward Zeinert. She graduated from Arbor Vitae-Woodruff High School in 1941. Dorothy retired from the Ohio State University Hospital system and moved to Florida in 2016 after living in Columbus, Ohio 70 years after her marriage. She also had a home on Old 51 for many years where she spent countless summers. She lived for her family, taking care of her home and yard, attending church, thrift shopping, crafting and feeding the birds. She had an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Susan (Sam Storer), step-son Larry (Diana Walker), beloved grandsons Philip Storer and Matthew Walker, seven great-grandchildren and sisters Phillis Duranso, Bonnie Peters, Peggy Trapp, and Sandra Romero and brother Allen Zeinert plus numerous nieces and nephew.
Dorothy was preceded in death in 1980 by her husband, Lawrence William Walker, a WWII Navy veteran and her son, Gary Lee Walker, who died only six days after his mother's passing. Also preceded in death were her mother and father, sisters Ruth Buck, Gwendoly Peloquin, Patricia Ryden, and Lois Lewis and brothers Edward Zeinert, Roland Zeinert, and Leroy Zeinert.
A graveside service with family and friends is planned for the end of July for both Dorothy and Gary and a celebration of life here in Woodruff the week after.
