Julaine C. Tracy, age 84, of Rhinelander, died on January 16, 2025 at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff.
She was born on July 11, 1940, in Mole Lake, the daughter of John and Flossie (Sparks) Schallock. She attended schools in Mole Lake and then graduated from Crandon High School before attending UW Whitewater for a short period of time.
She married the love of her life who she met in Biology class, Richard Tracy, on July 1, 1961. They were blessed with over 60 years of marriage. Julaine had been employed by Peterson Appraisals for 25 years as a licensed appraisal technician.
Julaine was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She served as the secretary of the Board of Trustees and worked on the harvest dinner for many years. She was also a member of the Jaycettes and was elected prom queen in high school. She was a big Packers fan and enjoyed traveling, playing cribbage and golfing.
Julaine is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Paul) Gatewood, her sons Jeffrey (Rebecca) Tracy and John Tracy, her grandchildren Laura Tracy, Claire (Shane) White, Eric Tracy, Ethan Gatewood and Aidan Gatewood, her great-grandchildren Charlotte and Camilla White, her brother Neil (Jean) Schallock, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dick and her brother Jerry Schallock.
Julaine's family would like to thank all of you who had a hand in the wonderful care provided their mother in her last days.
Visitation for Julaine will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, from noon to 2 p.m. with memorial services following at 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church.
