James Richard Sauer, MD

James Richard Sauer, MD, 87, of Bloomington, Ind., died on Jan. 7, 2025. He and wife Helen retired to Minocqua in 2000, where visits to the lake from friends and their four sons and families made for joyful years. Jim was a member and director of the Minocqua Duplicate Bridge Club and was active in Minocqua’s Rotary Club. He is survived by wife Helen, four sons and their spouses, three brothers, a sister-in-law, nine nieces and nephews, as well as 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Bloomington, 221 E 6th St, Bloomington, Ind. Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to The Nature Conservancy, The Audubon Society, The Natural Resources Council, or the charity of your choice.
