Barbara A. Vaade

Barbara A. Vaade, 80, of Lake Tomahawk, passed away on December 28, 2024 at Seasons of Life in Woodruff. She was born in Madison, on January 5, 1944, the daughter of Eldon and Clara Buzzell.

Barbara graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1962 and worked for many years at Nelson Industries in Stoughton. She has been a lifelong knitter and crocheter, being active in the Northwoods Knitters and Purlers Guild and made many items for family and friends. She was also active in the Republican Party, first in Arizona then in The Lakeland Area Republican Women’s Club, where she served as the Philanthropic Chairwoman for several years.

Barbara is survived by her high school sweetheart of 62 years, Mitchell; daughter, Dianne of Stoughton; son, Erik of Mauston; brother, Dale (Judy) Buzzell of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Matthew Vaade, Leslie Nowak, Jessa Brockmiller, Jeffery Uptain and Crystal Uptain; and eight special great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gary and Lee Buzzell; and aunts, Mae Johnson and Ruth Nesbitt.
