An artist, air force vet, teacher, pilot and a whimsical Dad with an endless pursuit of learning new things and instilling that love in others. He loved the Northwoods and the friends he made since moving to Harshaw in 1990. He was involved in the Rhinelander NAA “Colorama” Fly-In for fellow flight enthusiasts and after his flying career was over he relished sailing on Lake Shishebogema. He will be missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in Minocqua. The family thanks the staff of Marshfield Medical Center Hospital in Minocqua for their compassionate care of Rod in his last hours.
