Frederick Charles Schultz, 71, passed away on January 29, 2025 at the Lakeview Health Center in West Salem. He was born on October 29, 1953 in Oconomowoc.
After graduating from Oconomowoc High School in 1973, Fred attended Career Academy in Milwaukee to become a dental technician, making crowns and dentures.
Fred always enjoyed working on cars. He lived in Madison and worked at as a mechanic for several years.
Fred’s passion was skydiving. He was a member of 7 Hills Skydiving Club in Marshall. He was proud that he “survived” over 1,000 skydiving jumps. This passion for skydiving led him to start a skydiving goggle business, called “Grateful Fred,” (named after his love for the rock band, The Grateful Dead). His goggles were called “EZ Goggles.”
In the 1990s, he moved to Boulder Junction to help and work with his dad and brother David with their building businesses. There he built his own home in Natural Lakes, crafting the majority of the interior himself.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Bill and Carol Schultz and his brother Dick and sister-in-law Joanne Schultz. Fred is survived by his siblings David (Gayle) Schultz, Mary Jo (Jack) Lashua, Jane (Jim) Frandy, James (Julie Cronin) Schultz, Jean (Charles) Ruegsegger and eight nephews and nieces.
A private family gravesite service is planned at a later date.
