Marcia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, including her children Mark and Laura, and her husband James (Jim).
Born and raised in Micanopy, Fla., Marcia later moved to Gainesville with her family. There she attended the University of Florida and received her bachelor’s degree in sociology. Her early employment was with the American Red Cross in support of GIs in both Korea and Turkey. From the moment she entered a room, she brought light and joy during difficult times, making a lasting impression on all those she encountered. While working in 1962 as a Red Cross “Donut Dolly” in a small town in Eastern Turkey (Adana), and nearby Incirlik AB, she met Jim who was there on temporary duty with the USAF. After a short romance, the two were married in March 1963. Throughout her life, she was very active in volunteering at her Methodist church, local hospital and various social organizations. She was a loving wife and mother for over 62 years.
Predeceased in her family were her son, Jeffery Wolff, her mother, Mary Belle (Holder) Dailey, her father Ira A. Dailey M.D., her brother James O. Dailey M.D., and two sisters Clyde and Dorothy. She is survived by her husband “Jim,” her son Mark, her daughter Laura Palm M.D., and her granddaughter Sophie Palm.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m. at Crosspoint Church in Niceville, 214 Partin Dr S, Niceville, FL 32578. There will be a private family gathering in Micanopy, Fla. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made to a cause of the donor’s choice in Marcia’s honor as a wonderful wife and mother and her legacy of hospitality and volunteer work.
