Heather Geiss, 51 of Tomahawk, and formerly of Minocqua, passed away on Thursday, August 7. Daughter to Jack and Pam Stengel. Also a beloved mother, aunt, and teacher.
She is survived by her son, Keegan Geiss; her mother, Pam Stengel; her brother, Patrick Stengel; her nephew, Ethan Stengel; many friends; and the countless students whose lives she impacted during her many years as a special education teacher.
Heather was a vibrant, intelligent, compassionate woman who brought light into the lives of everyone she touched. Especially during the 25 years she spent loving and educating her students in the special ed departments of several different schools. Heather truly cared for every child she worked with and had no deeper desire than to see them succeed. She had a true servant soul and dedicated her life to helping others in any way she could. Most recently, she taught in the special education department at the Prentice school district. Her presence there will be greatly missed and her impact everlasting.
Many will also remember Heather for her avid love of Dolly Parton, Diet Coke, and anything that includes snowmen. She had a wonderfully artistic side when it came to house decor and all sorts of arts and crafts. She loved to include lots of color and funky fashion choices in her wardrobe, often showcasing her snowmen even well after Christmas.
In honor of Heather’s vivid personality, we ask that you please feel free to add color to your outfits for the ceremony. Visitation for Heather will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff from 10 to 11 a.m. with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
