Joseph “Dewey” Charles Hotchkiss

Joseph Charles Hotchkiss, fondly known as “Dewey,” 70, of Hazelhurst, passed away at his home on July 29, 2025.

Joseph was a great man of God and was always teaching the word of God to anyone who would listen. He belonged to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Minocqua. He loved giving back to the community and was very involved in many aspects of the community, including being on the board of the Ironwood Food Pantry. Joseph touched thousands of lives with his missionary work and always found a way to make time for everyone that needed his help in some way.

He was a loving father, husband and friend to many people.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Chris; brother, Randle; and son, Travis Charles McGinnis. He is survived by his wife, Pamela “Sam” McGinnis; son, Timbre Hotchkiss; daughter Shannon Wiesendanger; and grandchildren Connor and Caitlin.

A celebration of life will be held at W1098 Penny Lane, Merrill, Wisconsin at 1 p.m. on Aug. 17. There will be food and refreshments available after an outdoor service. Please bring a dish if you wish. Bolger Funeral Home is assisting the family, www.bolgerfuneral.com for condolences.
