Richard P. Granahan

Richard P. Granahan, 73, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025 at his home in Lac du Flambeau.

Rich was preceded in death by his father, Pat (92); mother, Patricia (79); and brother, Timothy (51). He is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen (Lee) of Plainfield, Ill.; niece, Alex; brother, Terry (Janice) Lakewood, Ill.; brother, Bob (Nancy) of Elmhurst, Ill.; and loving wife, Barbara of Lac du Flambeau.

Rich graduated from York High School in 1969 and Illinois State University in 1975.

Rich spent 47 years in the food brokerage business and set company production records numerous times during his successful career. Rich served in the Marine Corp Reserves from 1972 to 1975 while attending college and was a member of the Minocqua American Legion. Rich, his wife Barbara and their two golden retrievers moved to the Northwoods of Wisconsin in November 2024 where he enjoyed fishing on his favorite chain of lakes in Lac du Flambeau. Rich was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, and friend to anyone who met him. He had no enemies and for those that had the privilege of knowing him, will simply remember him as a great guy. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A private memorial to be held in Lakewood, Ill. Date to be determined.
