Marvin Arthur “Dick” Krueger died on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at AngelsGrace Hospice Hospital at the age of 95. He was born in Milwaukee on November 21, 1929, the only child of Emil and Emmerette Krueger.

Dick was a 1947 graduate of Wauwatosa High School. In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. After other duty with the U.S. Army, Dick changed his commission in 1966 and served the remainder of his military career as a pilot with the U.S. Air Force Reserves and also as liaison officer for the United States Air Force Academy.

On March 28, 1953, he married his beloved wife, Jean Orzewalla, at Capitol Drive Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, the place they met in Sunday School. Together they built a wonderful life. When Dick began his flying career, they became worldwide travelers. Dick flew for the military, corporately for Esser Paint Company, Milwaukee, and LOF Glass Company in Toledo, Ohio. In 1965, he joined American Airlines as a commercial pilot based at O’Hare Field in Chicago. After retiring from American, Dick flew for The Nomads, a Detroit-based travel club, where, with Jean, he travelled the globe visiting numerous countries and cultures. He loved flying and was always grateful that “going to work” was such a pleasure.

He was a wonderful father and very proud of his children and grandchildren. Sharing his time with each of them and watching them progress through life was a joy. Dick loved Minocqua lake living in retirement, playing golf, fishing and hunting, downhill and cross-country skiing, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Dick was a devout Christian serving on many boards and committees of his churches, as well as a village trustee for many years. He valued his relationships with many lifelong friends and neighbors with whom he always stayed close, and was a proud member of The Gideon’s International.

Dick was preceded in death by his cherished bride, Jean, and will be forever missed by his daughter Robbin; son Scott (Debbie); grandchildren, Daniel and Rachel (Andrew); brother-in law Larry (Jannette); nephews Matthew (Kristy) and Kyle, as well as other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, beginning at 11 a.m. at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will occur on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Milwaukee.

The family extends their gratitude to the nurses and staff of ProHealth Hospice Care, especially nurse DeAnna; the full-time caregivers from BrightStar Care; and AngelsGrace Hospice Hospital for its compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Divine Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hartland; The Gideon’s International; or Peace Lutheran Church in Arbor Vitae.
