NAMI Northern Lakes adds second family support group

National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) Northern Lakes is excited to announce Rhinelander will be the location for their newest Family Support Group. This addition will meet the growing needs of families with loved ones affected by mental health conditions while also accommodating more schedules and encourage broader community participation.

Beginning May 13, the Rhinelander Family Support Group will meet the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Moses Room in the lower level of Trinity Lutheran Church. This group will complement the existing Family Support Group held in Woodruff and will provide another option in our area for family members seeking peer-led support, shared experiences and understanding. 

“Our Family Support Groups are a lifeline for so many people who are navigation the challenges of supporting a loved one living with a mental health condition,” said Mick Fiocchi, Rhinelander Family Support Group facilitator for NAMI Northern Lakes. “By adding a second group in Rhinelander, we’re making it easier for more families to access the support they need — when they need it.”

NAMI Family Support Groups are free, confidential and led by trained facilitators who have lived experience supporting a family member with a mental health condition. The sessions offer a structured but welcoming environment where participants can share openly and gain practical insights. 

Woodruff’s Family Support Group will continue to meet the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Howard Young Medical Center.
