James Dubbs, age 83, of Rhinelander, died on August 1, 2024, in Tomahawk. He was born on Jan. 8, 1941, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Gladys (Zoeller) Dubbs. His mother died at Jim’s childbirth, and he was then raised by his stepmom, Estella (Kuns).

Jim loved the outdoors and loved to bike and camp. He would bike miles to find the perfect campsite. He also enjoyed watching old westerns. He loved music and was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord (St. Mary’s) men’s choir years ago. He loved to sing and play his keyboard.
Jim is survived by his church family, whom he loved dearly, and his friends and care workers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Raymond, who was killed in VietNam.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Father Chris Kemp will be officiating. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, also at the church. Interment will follow in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery.
