Brooke Marie Zickert was a child of God and follower of Jesus Christ. Brooke passed away at 5:25 p.m. on August 28, 2024 after a courageous 20-month battle with Glioblastoma.
Brooke Marie Lorenz was born on May 14, 1981. She was welcomed home with open arms to the Lorenz family farm in Nichols. She was adored by grandma, grandpa, and all her aunts and uncles. Today Elton, Doris, and Brooke reminisce about the pallets of Girl Scout cookies sold on grandpa’s milk route.
Brooke was a graduate of the 1999 class of New London High School. Brooke also attended the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. She was 2003 graduate and awarded a bachelor of science in business administration with a minor in sociology.
After college Brooke and her husband Kevin lived in; New London, Morton Ill., and for the past decade made their home in the beautiful town of Oconomowoc. Brooke and Kevin believed their home is where their hearts are. And their hearts were always for each other. With each move their family roots and Christian values spread at every new day’s dawn. The Lord’s Love was always with them.
Brooke’s professional career was a business and data analyst. But her most prized and favorite job was accompanied with the coveted title of mother. Her pride and joy lived within her daughters Sophia and Ally. Brooke’s biggest smiles were reserved just for them. She discipled her girls wherever and whenever needed. She showed her daughters how to walk a life with Christ.
My beautiful bride was a lover of life. She had a contagious smile that lit up any room. Emerald eyes that always sparkled. She was full of the Lord’s wisdom and grace. She was his child, crafted uniquely in his image. She was a woman saved by his grace through her faith in Jesus.
Booke was a woman that wore many hats. But Kevin and the girls described her best with these words.
Brooke was her family’s springtime lilies. She was our summers day.
She was the fire on a crisp fall evening. She was the light in their home. She was always our most favorite phone call. She was the oxygen in our blood. She was the beat in our hearts. She was our mornings reason for each new day. She was our laughter’s origin. She was our smiles beginning.
She truly was love’s new day. And our tomorrows were already hers.
We love you Brooke, but he loves you more! — Kevin, Sophia, and Ally.
Brooke is survived by her husband Kevin, her two darling mini-me daughters Sophia and Ally. Her mother Sandra (Richard) Blazek, father Joe (Loyetta) Gitter, father Terry (Vickie) Kent, mother and father in law of the bride Kevin (Lynne) Zickert, sister Kayla (Bret) Genske, brother Martin (Jessica) Gitter, sister Emily (Austin) soon to be Gillis, brother Tommy (Jamie) Kent, sister Kimberlie (Stephen) Brandt, soul sister Jody (Tim) Purtell, dear friend Amanda Pride. And a full family of fun-loving nieces and nephews Hayden Genske, Gabriel Harp, Jeremiah Gillis, Madeline and Briella Gitter, Madison/Lexie/Oliver Brandt.
Her light for the Lord shined bright. This child of God now has eternal peace in heaven.
A celebration of life will be held at Lake Country Lutheran High School in Hartland on Saturday Sept. 21.
