Zimmerman appointed fire and ambulance director in LdF

Ordinance creating five-member town board adopted

By BRIAN JOPEK
News Director

The Lac du Flambeau town board formally appointed Mike Zimmerman to be the town’s first full-time fire and ambulance director at its Oct. 23 meeting.

Town chairman Matt Gaulke and town supervisor Bob Hanson also passed a resolution that has the town adopting Vilas County zoning ordinances.

Zimmerman had been Lac du Flambeau’s zoning administrator but the decision was made to abolish the zoning department once he became fire and ambulance director.

Also adopted at the Oct. 23 meeting was an ordinance to create a five-member town board.

Town electors voted to expand the town board from three to five members at the town’s annual meeting in April of this year.
