Skalka to speak at Author Fair Nov. 9
The public is invited to meet Northwoods authors and enjoy a keynote speech from noted Wisconsin author Patricia Skalka at the Rhinelander District Library’s second annual Local Author Fair.
The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 9, according to a library press release.
The local author fair will run from 9:30-11 a.m. throughout the library.
“Each author will have a table, and visitors will be able to chat with and purchase books from David L. Tank, Michael Skubal, Jacqueline Hurley, Michelle Bauer, Jennifer Schmidig, Barbara Perkins, Kaira Lockwood, Sara Grenier Harvey, Jason F. Franz and Vernida Boykin,” the release states.
The keynote speech will run from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the library meeting room, and will be given by Patricia Skalka, author of the popular Dave Cubiak Door County mysteries.
Skalka is the winner of the 2024 Notable Wisconsin Author award, the Midwest Book Award for Best Thriller/Mystery, and the Edna Ferber Fiction Book Award. The keynote event will include how Skalka developed the Dave Cubiak series, Q&A, and an opportunity to purchase books. Made possible with funds from the Northern Art Council.
