Diane T. Brown

Diane T. (Thorson) Brown, 85, of Champaign, Ill. died peacefully in her sleep at 12:43 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Savoy Place Memory Care in Savoy, Ill.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1303 Lincolnshire Drive, Champaign. Father Nathan Hopper will officiate.

Diane was born on September 12, 1939 in Chicago, a daughter of Lester and Marion (Lindboe) Thorson. She married Edward H. Brown Jr. on December 26, 1959 at St. Petronille Church in Glen Ellyn, Ill.

Diane was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Timothy Murphy on January 15, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Edward; her children, Kim (Bill) Fiedler, Steve (Shelly) Brown, and Karen (Brian) Daily; her grandchildren, Katy (Kyle) Behnke, Becky (Keith) DeDecker, Ryan (Bailey) Murphy, Austin and Alexa Brown, and Roan and Cason Daily; and her great-grandchildren, Grayson, Preston, Timmy, Jace, Jack and Ford.

Diane was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Champaign where she served as parish secretary from 1981 until she retired in 2003.

Over the years Diane enjoyed reading, cooking, knitting, doing puzzles and spending summers on her beloved Lake Katherine in Hazelhurst.
