William W. “Bill” Draudt, 81, of Aurora, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Ill. He was born January 10, 1943 in Aurora, Ill.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Aurora. He was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Transportation and retired from the City of Aurora Street Maintenance Department after 35 years of service. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He enjoyed working with antique furniture and Cushman motor scooters. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and being up north in Manitowish Waters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lorrine (McAnally) Draudt; a brother, Wayne (Mary Ann) Draudt; three stepbrothers, Cliff (Pat) Wackerlin, Frank Wackerlin, Bill Wackerlin; a brother-in-law, Dave (Carolyn) McAnally; a sister-in-law, Sandi (Denny) Swaim; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Katherine (Ritli) Draudt; his stepfather, Bill Wackerlin; two stepbrothers, George Wackerlin, Jerry Wackerlin; his nephew, Nathan Swaim.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 2 from The Daleiden Mortuary to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church with Fr. Andrew Mulcahey officiating and a private interment.
