Daniel S. Bauer
Daniel S. Bauer, 42, of Rhinelander, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was born on October 16, 1982, in Florence, to David & Barbara (Bomberg) Bauer. Dan was born and raised in Florence graduating from Florence High School in 2001. Dan continued his education at UW-Oshkosh and Fox Valley Technical College, graduating with a degree in Fire Science.
On January 2, 2006, Dan accepted a position with Rhinelander Fire Department. Throughout his career at Rhinelander Fire, Dan was SR Driver, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief and most recently Assistant Fire Chief.
Rhinelander is where Dan met the love of his life, Jenna. They were united in marriage on August 22, 2009. They reside in Rhinelander with their four children and are members of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Dan was a beloved father, coach, and friend to so many. He dedicated his life to helping others, always there to support, encourage, and guide those around him, especially his children. His impact on those around him was profound and his kindness, dedication, and passion inspired everyone who knew him. He also enjoyed cooking for his family, a good round of golf, a competitive game of softball and assisting with community fund raising events.
Dan is survived by his wife, Jenna Bauer and their children Blake, Eli, Isaac and Avery; his parents Dave and Barb Bauer; siblings: Amy (Kris) Johnson, Pamela Spade, Kristin (Sal) Mouidi; nieces and nephews: Evan, Kamdan, Emmett, Tyler, Ethan and Noah; uncles and aunts: Mark (Karen) Bomberg, Tim (Jeanette) Bomberg, Jack Bomberg, Mary (Larry) Wexler, Paul (Deniell) Bomberg; numerous cousins and his brothers & sisters of the Rhinelander and Florence Fire Departments.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cara Bauer, grandparents Paul & Mary Jo Bomberg and Virginia & Roy Ehrenreich, mother-in-Law Kathy Heise, aunt Ann Bomberg and uncle Steven Bauer.
Visitation for Dan will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to noon with memorial services following at noon, all at the Pine Grove Community Church in Rhinelander. Reverend Timothy Vadis will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Dan's name and any gifts may be directed to his family.
