Lucille Marie King, age 100 of Woodruff, and formerly of Illinois passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14 at Rennes Health and Rehab in Rhinelander. Lucille was born on February 21, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of George and Catherine (nee Rodzak) Breier.
Lucille was always willing to volunteer; she was a member of the Lakeland Red Hats and in Illinois she was an active member of the following organizations: Daughters of Isabella, president of St. Mary’s Senior Club and vice president of St. Mary of Perpetual Help Seniors, president of Younger than Springtime Seniors, member of D. of I. Copernicus Circle #324 and most importantly was a dear friend to many.
Lucille is survived by her son Edward (Joan) King Jr., and by her grandchildren: Joanne (Todd) Morgan, Kenneth (Stacey) Shepski, Jr., Laura (Matt) Hess, Robert (Ryan) Slazyk, Ryan (Melissa) King, Krysta (Lincoln) Marunde, Matthew (Hilary) King and Kaylee (Danny) Rios and by many great- and great-great-grandchildren and by son-in-laws Kenneth Shepski, Sr. and Robert Slazyk.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Edward King, Sr., and by her daughters Mary Lou Shepski and Janis Slazyk and by her siblings Catherine (Walter) Kozicki and Robert (Margaret) Breier and by her parents.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Ill. at a later date.
