Milosh “Mike” Lakich, born November 18, 1927 to Ciro and Mara Lakich. Preceded in death by wife of 71 years Luella (Rye) Lakich. Survived by son David (Terri) Lakich, daughters Jeanne (David) Mayefske and Karen (Milan) Matovich, grandchildren Mark (Kate) and Luke (Chrissy) Mayefske, Isaac, Erin, and Daniel Lakich, Mara and Alexander Matovich. Great-grandchildren Gemma and Owen Mayefske, Emery and Briar Mayefske, Averie and Irelynn Lakich. Further survived by niece Suzanne (Lakich) Zwaska and nephews George and Joseph Yalich, as well as many dear family members and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mildred Yalich and Olga Lakich, and brother Stephen Lakich. A member of United Methodist Church of the Pines, Minocqua, and long-time former member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Milwaukee.
Served in U.S. Marine Corp in World War II and Korea. Lifelong employee of Gimbels department stores, Milwaukee. Graduate of Marquette University. Avid outdoorsman who passed along his love of fishing and hunting to his family as well as many treasured woodworking projects.
Wife Luella passed away on January 8, 2024. A joint memorial service for Mike and Luella will be held at United Methodist Church of the Pines, 415 Chippewa Street, Minocqua, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.
