David L. Nimz

David Nimz, 83, passed away surrounded by his family on March 1, 2024 at his home.

David was born in Wausau, on February 7, 1941 to George and Alice (Disbrow) Nimz. David married Judith Severt of Wausau, on June 15, 1962 in Wausau at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. He worked at the Wausau Fire Department for 29 years and one day. David enjoyed: fishing, hunting, shooting guns and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all that knew him. 

He is survived by his wife Judith Nimz of Wausau; son DJ (Kathy) Nimz of Wausau; daughter Karen of Wausau; two grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsey Lasecki) Nimz of Wausau and Jon (Alisha) Nimz of Marathon City; and brother-in-law Robert Severt of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Carl (Mary) Nimz; mother and father-in-law Grace and Robert Severt; and brother-in-law Lorin Severt.

Funeral service will be held on Monday March 11, at 11 a.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church (6205 Alderson St. Weston WI 54476) Pastor Lance Hoelscher will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday March 11, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
