Ro-Jean Mary Pomeroy Ro-Jean Mary (Czarapata) Pomeroy, 82 of Crivitz, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 at the Meng Hospice House in DePere, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Jean was born on June 30, 1941 in Milwaukee to the late Dorothy (Pozniak) Maier and Ervin Czarapata. She had two sisters Marcia (Arno) Ziebart and Donna (Richard) Harder. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Cathedral High School. She worked at Globe Union as a secretary. Jean met her husband William Pomeroy on her visits up north to Crivitz at Popp’s Resort. On April 23, 1960 Jean married her love William in Milwaukee. She was a loving mother to three children, Edward, Robert, and Deborah. In 1970, Jean and Bill moved to Crivitz where they raised their three children. She worked at the Crivitz Bakery and volunteered at the Crivitz Elementary School. Later, Jean decided to go to college and attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College where she received a technical diploma in May of 1986 in the office assistant program. Afterwards, she worked several years as a secretary at North Country Real Estate. During this time she decided to go to real estate school and received her license and began a job working for Century 21. Jean was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Crivitz where she attended regularly. Later, Jean traveled to many places, but she especially enjoyed the Somewhere in Time weekends with her friends including Bonnie, to The Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. She loved dancing and listening to polka music. She often visited her children and grandchildren traveling to see them and watch them in their many activities including: football, cheering, plays, recitals, concerts, and Scouts. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. Bill and Jean were married for 64 wonderful years. Jean remained in Crivitz where she was cared for from Unity Hospice for several years while she battled Parkinson’s disease and dementia. She was cared for at home by her loving husband Bill for many years with the assistance of Amanda her caregiver and Unity Hospice. Jean will be deeply missed by her husband, three children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is survived by her husband William Pomeroy, two sons, Edward (Cheryl) Pomeroy of Milwaukee, and Rob (Mona) Montraix of Danville, Calif., and one daughter Deborah (John) Schneider of Arbor Vitae. She was grandma to: Billy and Bridgette Pomeroy, Sierra, Dalton, and Collette Montraix, and Rachel, Cody (Grace), and Miranda Schneider. She was great-grandmother to Christian Pomeroy. In-laws, Arno (Marcia) Ziebart, Richard (Donna) Harder, and Randy (Deb) Atwood.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Maier, father, Ervin Czarapata, stepfather, Linus Maier, sisters Marcia Ziebart and Donna Harder, and her nephew Brian Harder as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on June 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. The Mass will be at 11 a.m. with Father David Schmidt officiating. Jean will be laid to rest at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Amanda Berg, her caregiver while at home, Unity Hospice, and the many nurses, including Sarah, and social workers that assisted in Jean’s care. As well as the Meng Hospice House where Jean spent her last month’s being so kindly and gently cared for.
