Nancy Anderson, 86, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at Milestone Senior Living Facility in Woodruff where she had been a resident.
She was born on January 17, 1938, to the late Chet and Isabell (Zimmerman) Konkol. She spent her entire childhood in Wisconsin Rapids and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. It was in her first year of teaching high school math where she met another young high school teacher, Robert (Bob) Anderson. They were married at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Iowa, on June 6, 1961.
Most of her teaching career was spent at Abbotsford High School. In 1977, Nancy left teaching and moved to Hazelhurst with Bob, where they owned and operated Cedar Falls Resort and Campgrounds for many years.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Nancy loved having her grandchildren decorate her very tall Christmas tree and Christmas cookies during the holiday season. She enjoyed puzzles, knitting, cross-stitch, painting, quilting, reading, and gardening, as well as fishing with Bob.
Nancy is survived by her husband Bob of 63 years; her children, Amy (Mike) Griebel of Waterford, Jon (Kristina) Anderson of Grafton, Karen (Dick) Lee of Minocqua, Joel (Erin) Anderson of Whitefish Bay; nine grandchildren, Casey (Chad) Peters, Kyle Griebel, Abby (Billy) Kuchler, Jamie (Wil) Norman, Niki (Kasey Lisner) Lee, Bobbi (Logan Strasburg) Lee, Isabell Anderson, Rhys Anderson, Beatrix Anderson; two great grandsons Cole and Canaan; and one sister Bonnie (Don) Kreutzer. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Jack Siegler and Ken (Gloria) Anderson, and sisters-in-laws Gerry Geary and Betty Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathleen Siegler.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Nimsgern Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
