Holger Axel Olsson

Holger Axel Olsson, 84, of Presque Isle, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 29, 1940 in the Town of Lake, the son of Axel and Mary (nee Gritzan) Olsson.

Holger attended Winegar Grade School in Presque Isle and Marenisco High School. He also attended Gogebic Community College. Holger was a hardworking man, he retired from Millwright Construction 1056 Local. He also ran Olsson’s Presque Isle Inn from 1973-1975 before it was sold. Holger served in the United States Army from 1958–1961 and was a 53-year member of American Legion Winegar Post 480 in Presque Isle; he was proud of his lifetime membership.

Holger is preceded in death by his parents, Axel and Mary; brother, Norton Olsson and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his brother, Rodney Olsson, Presque Isle, sister-in-law, Vyrl Olsson, Susanville, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Bolger Funeral Home in Woodruff. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Presque Isle Cemetery.
