Edward “Ned” Stuppy

Edward “Ned” Stuppy, 78, of Sayner, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024 at his home. Ned was born on April 11, 1946 in LaSalle, Ill., the son of Edward and Catherine (nee Cummings) Stuppy. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1968. Upon graduation, Ned served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, where he was deployed to Vietnam. 

On October 31, 1970, Ned married Barbara Iwaszek. They worked in Chicago for 32 years until retirement and then moved to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Retirement was full of many fun adventures on motorcycle trips, fishing the lakes of Wisconsin and lots of golfing. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Stuppy; sister, Elizabeth Hetrick and many nieces and nephews. Ned will be remembered for his sense of humor; which was loved and appreciated by his many friends and family. 

Per Ned’s wishes, a private interment will take place at Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Edward “Ned” Stuppy’s name to Camp American Legion.
