Robert William Pospychala, age 80, of Woodboro, died on July 28, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 16, 1944, in Rhinelander, the son of Bernard and Ann (Bukovic) Pospychala.
Robert grew up in Rhinelander and graduated from Rhinelander Union High School in 1962. Shortly after graduation he moved to Milwaukee and lived there from 1962 to 1978. In 1978 he built a house in Mukwonago. During his time in the Milwaukee area, he was employed by Ampco Pittsburg for 38 years. Robert moved back to Rhinelander in 2004. He worked for Oldenburg until he retired. He has lived here since.
In November of 1966 he married the love of his life, Vonney Tushoski, and they shared over 57 wonderful years together.
Robert was very skilled at woodworking. He loved puzzles and being outdoors walking the dogs, hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling, and taking trips to Canada. His granddaughter was very important to him. He loved spending time and doing things with her. Robert was a selfless person and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He always helped people out when they needed it.
He is survived by his wife Vonney, his daughter Wendy Ullrich, his son Randy (Paula Michalski) Pospychala, his granddaughter Courtney Ullrich (Nolan), his sister Carolyn Pospychala, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a visitation for Robert on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10 a.m. to noon with a memorial service following at noon, all at the Carlson Funeral Home. Chaplain John Uhlarik will be officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Home Cemetery.
