Helen Townsend

Helen Townsend of Manitowish Waters passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23 at Minocqua Health and Rehab at the age of 82. Helen was born to Walter and Beatrice Bunn on April 4, 1942 in La Crosse.

Helen enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with her family and her furry and feathered friends. She will be most remembered for her love of music. Not only did Helen teach piano and organ, but she also shared her musical gifts at the Community Church of Boulder Junction as a member of the bell choir and as organist for over 50 years.

She is survived by her daughters Kathryn (Scott) Noet of Minnesota, and Amy (Paul) Berard of Harshaw; grandson Brandon Berard; brother Irvin (Mary) Bunn; a niece and nephew along with many “grand-dogs.” She is preceded in death by her husband Robert and brother Charles.

Helen’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of those who enhanced her quality of life by providing quality care and making sure she got to church.
