Nancy Gould Nelson, beloved wife, sister, aunt, devoted friend, and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024, after bravely battling a prolonged illness. She was 85 years old.

Nancy was born on July 1, 1938 in Highland Park, Ill. to Philip and Ruthe Gould. From her earliest days, she exhibited a warmth and kindness that would become the hallmark of her life. Nancy’s journey was one marked by compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to those she loved.

Educated at Rochester University, Nancy pursued a career in advertising in New York City, where she excelled through her hard work and dedication. Nancy’s impact extended far beyond her professional life; she was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends. Later in life, Nancy took extreme pride in her work done at the Community Church of Boulder Junction.

She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, whose presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Nancy absolutely treasured her extended Northwoods family and found joy in visiting with many of them whether it be at the end of the dock or around a campfire at Twin Pines and Ballardwood. Nancy is survived by her nephews Philip Gould (Barbra), David Gould (Laura), niece Christine (Patrick) and her treasured great nephews and nieces, Lauren, Austin (Dana), Stephen, Timothy, Patrick, Beatrice and TJ.
