James “Jim” Benson

James “Jim” Benson of St. Germain rose with the Lord on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was 77 at the time of death, born November 26, 1946, in Milwaukee; resident of St. Germain for 50 years. An Army veteran (1966-1969), he is survived by his wife Eljean of 53 years, daughters Terri (Steve) Vogel of St. Germain and Julie Benson (Dean VanSkyhawk) of Minocqua and granddaughters Katelyn, Morgan and Sara Schiddel.

Sole living sibling Carol (Roger) Schaf of Louisville, Ky. and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Harley and Eleanor Benson and brothers Harley Jr., Robert and Charles.

Stone mason for over 40 years, the Northwoods area displays much of his stone work including the stone pedestal of Chief St. Germain statue in St. Germain.

Bolger’s Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements. Private funeral service, April 10 at 3:30 p.m.
