Zoya A. Mayo

Zoya A. Mayo, 64, of Lac du Flambeau, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 29, 1959 at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, the daughter of Charles “Chuck” Gans and Clara L. Thompson. Zoya is preceded in death by her parents, Charles “Chuck” Gans and Clara-Lou Thompson; daughter, Autumn Ann Bonga and brother, Louis Gans. She is survived by her son, Lucas (Marlee) Bonga; grandson, Armand Mayo; brothers and sisters, Edward Mayo, Emmy Mayo, William “Butch” Mayo, John Gans, Theodore Gans and Maxine (Scott) Smith; granddaughter, Neve Bonga; grandson, Derrick Bonga and great-grandson, Kaius Israel Cedillo-Garcia. Zoya is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other cousins and relatives.

Visitation will begin at noon for the public on Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Multi Purpose Building in Lac du Flambeau. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lac du Flambeau.
