Dibaajimo: We tell stories
Words are powerful. They can heal us. They can clear up misunderstandings. They can build bridges. They can connect us.
And words and ideas will be flying in Lac du Flambeau from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 23, at the Lake of the Torches Convention Center. Storytellers, singers, writers, singer-songwriters, filmmakers, and playwrights will be sharing their work.
Meet and talk with Northwoods authors like Tom and Betsy Peacock, Migizikwe, Arnold Jack, Ceone Fenn, Marsha Poupart, Carol Amour, Bobby Bullet and many more. Listen to their works. Buy their books and CDs. Enjoy the release of three new smallBooks. Play word games. Find out who will win our Words Contest.
$600 will be awarded in several WORDS Contest Categories: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, songs, short plays, short films. There will be adult and youth divisions in each category.
• Writing: 500 word limit.
• Songs/plays/films: 4 minute limit.
