Forever in our hearts, Leonard F. Adelmann, “Len,” 87, lifelong resident of Lockport and Arbor Vitae, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. A proud United States army veteran. Lifetime member of Lockport Moose Lodge 1557. Member of IBEW Union Local 176, and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lockport. Len was an avid fisherman, enjoyed spending time at his lake house in Arbor Vitae, playing horseshoes in his yard with family and friends, and in his younger years he enjoyed hiking and gardening. A diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan, and a loyal supporter of the Lockport Porters. Above all else Len cherished spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his beloved son, Leonard P. Adelmann (2011); one granddaughter, Abygayle Adelmann (2018); his parents, Andrew and Frances (Nee Mostyn) Adelmann; one brother, Norbert Adelmann; and three sisters, June Adelmann, Madelyn Adelmann in infancy, and Mary (Frank) Hoyt.
Survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Donna M. (Nee Kuna) Adelmann; five loving children, Mark (Caroline) Adelmann of Geneva, Ill., Kevin (Kathy) Adelmann of Chenoa, Ill., Dawn (James) Wrobel of Rockford, Ill., Curt (Sharon) Adelmann of Shorewood, Ill., and Bruce (Aline) Adelmann of Bartlett, Ill.; 15 cherished grandchildren, Hillary, Andrew, Matthew, Kathleen, Colleen, Ashley, Frank, Chris, Josh, Vanessa, Neal, Aryel, Aryka, Bronsyn, and Bruce II; 17 adored great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Loretta Adelmann; brother-in-law Don Kuna (Marilyn); and numerous, beloved nieces and nephews, friends and other loved ones.
