George Hartford III
George passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2023 at his home in Bamberg, Germany. George was born February 20, 1956, and lived in Presque Isle. After graduating from Lakeland High School in 1974, George enlisted in the US Army where he was stationed in Italy and Germany. After his time honorably serving the country, he made his home in Bamberg, where he remained until his unfortunate passing. George worked for many years at QKK GmbH where he was a team leader in quality control of BMW and VW auto parts, a job he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father George Jr, his mother Marlene, and his brother David. He is survived by his sister Tracey (Ron) Bricco, and sister-in-law, Lori Hartford; nieces, and nephews Jason Bricco, Taylor Bricco, Thomas Hartford, Sara Hartford, and Angela Bruette, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. George loved reading, watching cooking shows, especially Jamie Oliver, and traveling throughout Europe and Africa.
George was laid to rest on August 25, in Bamberg, with a special prayer by Rabba Yael Deusel, as George converted to Jewish faith.
In lieu of flowers, or attendance, please consider planting a tree in Israel in memory of George http://www.jnf-kkl.de or a donation to Menschen in Not, Bamberg https://menscheninnot-bamberg.de/spenden/ in his name. A special thank you to his dear friends, Mandy and Constantin Noss, of Bamberg, Germany.
