Mary Vogel

Mary Vogel passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023. She was born May 2, 1941, in Milwaukee to parents Roy and Johanna Schulpius. She met Charles (Chuck) Vogel, the love of her life, and they were united in marriage on August 19, 1961 after a brief courtship. They built a home and construction business in New Berlin and spent many weekends in northern Wisconsin before moving to St. Germain in 1976.

Mary and Chuck raised four children while running Charles Vogel Enterprises, Arrowhead Groomers, and the Rustic Manor Motel. But her true passion was quilting, needlepoint and cross-stitch as she spent many hours putting together dozens of quilts and wall hangings. She also loved playing cards and board games with family and friends. In her later years, Mary spent several winters in Florida and traveled with Chuck to different states in their RV. She also spent many hours on the porch enjoying the lake view. 

Mary leaves behind her four children; June Vogel (Tim Schwulst), Steve Vogel (Terri), Peg Moore (Scott), and Jimmy Vogel (Jeanna); along with grandchildren Tyler, Roey, and Steven; and great-grandchildren Calvin and Link. She also leaves behind her brother, Donald (Harriet) and nieces and nephews. Mary joins her parents, her husband Chuck, and her brother Richard who preceded her in death. 

A celebration of life was held Sept. 26, with burial following at the St. Germain cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Vilas County ADRC Cycling Without Age, 330 Court Street, Eagle River, WI 54521 or by phone 715-479-3625.
