Bradley Todd Marney, 63, a beloved husband, devoted father, and a vibrant soul, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 9, 2023.

Born in Dallas, Texas, on July 17, 1960, Todd grew up in Irving, where he made a mark as the vice president of his class, an enthusiastic football player, and a proud graduate of MacArthur High School. He possessed a rare gift of making friends wherever he went, a trait he undoubtedly inherited from his loving family, who instilled in him a deep and abiding spiritual faith that held a special place in his heart.

Todd continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned degrees in both real estate and finance. He pursued a career in commercial real estate in Texas and Wisconsin that took him all over the country. During his time in Austin, he fervently supported the Longhorns, attending every football game for four years. His athletic prowess wasn’t limited to the stands; he excelled in softball, Ultimate Frisbee, and soccer during his college years.

It was in Dallas where Todd’s path intersected with Pam, the love of his life. Their romance blossomed into a 35-year marriage, during which they lovingly raised two daughters, Rowan and Greta, who brought immeasurable joy and laughter into their lives.

Todd’s passion for life knew no bounds. He cherished annual retreats to the Larsen family cabin on Elbow Lake in Northern Minnesota, creating cherished memories with extended family. His love extended to cooking, music (especially George Jones, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and Texas musicians), dancing, floating area rivers, hiking, and spending time with his loyal canine companions, Bruno and Finn. Road trips in his trusty pickup truck were a source of endless adventure and joy.

In recent years, Todd’s evenings were dedicated to spending time with his beloved father, Charles, in Georgetown, Texas. With his brother Scott, by his side, they shared stories and laughter, creating precious moments together.

Todd’s passion for disc golf endeared him to the Austin community after relocating there in 2016. His enthusiasm for the sport made him a sought-after teammate in weekly tournaments. On the fateful morning of his passing, Todd achieved an elusive ace, better known as a hole-in-one, a feat celebrated by the Central Texas Disc Association. It marked the beginning of what he knew would be an extraordinary day.

Todd’s warm bear hugs and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering support for the Texas Longhorns, often signified by his iconic “hook ‘em” hand gesture, will forever remain a cherished memory.

Bradley Todd Marney is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pam Larsen Marney, and his two adoring daughters, Rowan Marney of Reno, Nevada, Hannah Zipes (Fiancee) of Reno, Nevada, and Greta Marney of Austin, Texas. He also leaves behind his faithful companions, Bruno and Finnegan, his father Charles Marney of Georgetown, Texas, brothers Scott Marney of Georgetown, Texas, and Rick Marney of Birchleaf, Va., and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise Davis, his stepfather, David Davis, and his stepmother, Jane Marney.

Todd’s parting message would undoubtedly be, “Thanks for your friendship, and hook ‘em!” His memory will forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Todd. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m., at St. Luke’s on the Lake Episcopal Church, 5600 Ranch Road 620 North, Austin, Texas.
