Paul Herrmann, 69 of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Paul was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on November 30, 1953 to the late Francis and Marion Herrmann. After spending the first part of his life living in the Milwaukee area, Paul and his family decided to move up to the Northwoods and open Herrmann’s Highway Foods grocery store. For the next five years, he would successfully serve the Lake Tomahawk area not only with groceries, but by also serving as an elected official on the town board.
In Paul’s spare time, he always enjoyed spending time with his children, working on cars, and rescuing Great Danes.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Marion Herrmann, wife Jean Herrmann, and brother-in-law Bill Foth.
Paul is survived by daughter Jamie (Paul) Klappa of Woodruff; daughter Katie (Greg) Brasure of Kronenwetter; son Joseph (Tonya) Herrmann of Sanford, N.C.; son Jeremy (Melissa) Herrmann of Woodruff; and son Christopher (Kristen Murphy) Herrmann of Tallahassee, Fla.; Grandchildren Adam Klappa, Ryan Klappa, Hannah Herrmann, Preston Herrmann, Jenna Klappa, Michael Herrmann, Owen Klappa, Blake Brasure, Ivan Brasure, and Asher Herrmann; Sisters Nancy Krimmer-Foth and Pat Bukosky; many nieces and nephews.
At the young age of 18, Paul was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Through his determination and resilience he never let the disease slow him down. Paul made the heroically and brave decision to have his body donated for medical studies with the hopes that one day there would be a cure for the disease.
Please join our family as we celebrate Paul’s 70th Birthday and to say Farewell. The celebration will be held at the Lake Tomahawk Community Center from 5 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 30. The family encourages all who remember Paul to come by, enjoy some refreshments, and share some old memories together.
