Dennis Michael Stachewicz, Sr.

Dennis Michael Stachewicz, Sr., 78 of Minocqua, passed away on Wednesday, November 1 at his residence with his family by his side. Dennis was born on November 26, 1944 in Milwaukee, the son of Norbert and Emma (nee Kuhnke) Stachewicz.

Dennis proudly served in the US Army from March 1967 till March 1969 during the Vietnam War with the 110th Transportation Company during the Tet Offensive.

He was a railroad worker for 43 years who worked for the Milwaukee Road, Wisconsin Central, and Canadian National Railroads. He loved hunting and fishing with his wife and family from their cabin in Tipler. He was particularly fond of deer and ruffed grouse hunting, and taking his grandsons fishing.

Dennis is survived by his wife Joann Stachewicz (Beringer) of 55 years and son Dennis (Rebecca) Stachewicz, Jr. and grandsons Evan and Forrest Stachewicz and by his brothers and sisters Joann Patterson, Darlene (Ron) Sowinski, Donald (Bridgette) Stachewicz, Ronald (Ina) Stachewicz and Kenneth Stachewicz and his sister-in-law Charlotte Hoffman and further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Norbert and Emma and by his brother-in-law Doug Patterson.

Upon his wishes, cremation took place and funeral services with military honors will take place at a later date at Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw.
