Jean Allen

Jean Allen, born in Joliet, Ill. on January 18, 1925, passed peacefully on October 29, 2023 with her daughters by her side at the age of 98. Previously Jean resided in Hilton Head Island, S.C. for 40 years with her beloved late husband, Rich Allen. Her passions in life revolved around family, friends and tennis, where she played competitively until age 85. Jean is survived by daughters Sally Winger (Mike), Patty Bunce (Pete); stepsons Mike Allen (Michelle), Rob Allen; grandchildren Breia Tlusty (Ben), Andy Knutson, Robby Knutson, Molly Knutson (Jack Borski); step-grandchildren Justin Bunce, Megan Bunce and Ashley Bunce; and great-grandchildren Olly and Willa Tlusty. She was preceded in death by granddaughters Kali Pfaller and Tara Pfaller. A private family celebration will be held. Our deepest gratitude goes out to the staff of Congregational Home for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided Jean. If so desired, St Jude’s Hospital was Jean’s memorial of choice.
